Education Service Contracting (ESC) Program Grants
The school is certified by the Department of Education as one of its partners in the Education Service Contracting (ESC) Program which aims to decongest overcrowded public junior high schools by enabling students to enroll in private junior high schools if they wish to do so. These students are each given ESC grants which as of SY 2017-18 amount to P8,500 for Grades 7-9 and P7,500 for Grade 10. The said ESC grants are available to incoming Grade 7 students on a first-come, first-served basis and cover four years of junior high school. No maintaining grades are required for each school year. Thus, ESC grants are good for four consecutive school years although these will be terminated anytime within the period in cases where an ESC grantee:
- Drops out of school
- Does not reenroll the following school year
- Is retained at the same grade level
- Is suspended for more than two weeks, dismissed or expelled by the school for disciplinary reasons
- Transfers to a public junior high school or to a non-ESC private junior high school.
The ESC grant is paid by the Department of Education directly to the school, not given directly to the ESC grantee or his parents. Upon the grantee’s enrolment, long before it receives payment from the Department of Education, the amount of the grant is deducted by the school from his tuition fees due for the school year. The outstanding balance is to be paid by the grantee in nine monthly installments, if not in full.
Entrance Scholarships
Aside from charging affordable tuition and other school fees as well as a down payment of only P1,000, the school also offers entrance scholarships to incoming Grade 7 students as well as transferees who are honor graduates, outstanding athletes (football, chess, volleyball, basketball, athletics, table tennis, etc.), winners in inter-school competitions in campus journalism, art, music, etc. and other deserving enrollees. Medals, trophies, plaques or photos thereof along with certificates and other supporting documents must be presented upon enrolment in order to qualify for any of the said scholarships. Unless revoked due to poor academic performance, negative behavior/attitude as recommended by the coach/trainer concerned or Discipline Officer or due to any other valid reason, these scholarships are good for the succeeding years of junior high school.
Work Scholarships
Work scholarships are available to students who are unable to pay the outstanding balance of their Education Service Contracting (ESC) grant but are willing to render work at the school after classes, on Saturdays, holidays and during the summer break. Work students however are required to pay in cash for the number of hours of work missed before they can secure an exam permit. A limited number of scholarships may be given to students who are children of qualified pastors, especially students who are not ESC grantees. The Rosita Caña Colinco Memorial Scholarship, awarded in memory of the school founder’s late wife, is set aside for selected students depending on need and merit.
