Grade 7’s Keesha Joy Libertad as well as Grade 12’s Kimberly Moso and Stephanie Gonzales topped this school year’s honor roll by earning high honors.
Superior Examples
Last school year’s valedictorian of Apolinario Mabini Elementary School, Libertad finished with a general average of 95.70%. The general average of Moso and Gonzales on the other hand were 95.72% and 94.97 % respectively.
High honors are given to students with a general average of 95-97%. Students with honors are those with a general average of 90-94%.
The three are the first MCC high school students to complete a school year with high honors since the Department of Education changed the basis for selection of honor students last school year to allow any number of students who reach the required general average to be ranked with highest honors, with high honors or with honors.
In previous school years, only the top ten students of their respective classes based on their general average qualified for the honor roll.
Twenty-six percent, or 20 out of 78 senior high school students, were included in the senior high school honor roll while 59 other junior high school students aside from Libertad finished with honors.
